In my opinion, this board has done (and is doing) a fantastic job at guiding me along the complex and sometimes frustrating path of knifemaking. I may never gain the status of Loveless, Rodgers, Caffery, Vanderkolff, Rechsteiner, or Onion, plus anyone else here who is willing to say, "Wouldn't it be better this way?" But I tend to receive much more positive and negative feedback about my ideas and processes than I could ever hope to garner without a place such as this. What I'm saying is that if it weren't for knifenet I would still be in my garage trying to straighten those mystery metal leaf springs!
