etching

i had a friend make me an ac/dc etcher a few years ago ,and for the life of me i cant remember which it is, ac to etch and dc to blacken or visa versa. this person is no longer around so any tips? Thanks original iron

Never used or even seen one Iron, but from what I know about electrify I'd say DC to etch and AC to blacken. DC is directional (pos to neg) to remove or add electrons and AC will swap electrons randomly (alternitly)...maybe?

Try it on one of the kitchen knives and see might be a good ideal? Or better yet, borrow a buddies knife. ;~0

Chiger has it correct, d/c to etch and a/c to darken.
