Welcome to the forum, Tuskbuster! Don't see any pictures but would like to. It might be that the software is blocking your pictures right now since you're new and in 'moderated' status right now but that will change automatically after a while when it becomes obvious that you aren't a spammer.

As for mirror polishes, suit yourself but I have no use for them. They are completely useless on working knives - which seems to be what you like to make - because anything that touches them will scratch them and you end up re-polishing every other day trying to keep the knife looking good. They're OK for collector's knives that just sit on a shelf but not worth the time, effort, and expense if you're making a working knife ....

Welcome Andrew. Hope you get to where you can post pics. Always like to look at new stuff.
Agree with Ray, shiney's got no job at my house either (besides a good sniper will see the thing a mile away!).

just so yal know my last batch of blades (total of 3)went about my stuff in same sequeince as usual ,forge, quench in my best rerun veg oil.(deepfried everybit of 20 lbs of gizzards and that many fries before the ole lady said to change strait to the popup toaster for 2 ,2 hr temps and guess what cracks all over the blades ,for got to plug in my oil to warm up.lesson learned and filed in whats left of a brain. till the next time i do itthat is.
my forge bein down is runnin me way behind on a few orders and havin to come out of forced retirement(gettin undercut on every bid i make) had to take a job to buy more supplies for more knives .ole lady said make money or she was gonna start sellin my guns
all jokes aside i do have fun messin around with the blades and makin a little beer money.ild really be goin in the hole if i had to buy all my material and the consumables too
