knife indentification

Hey guys need some help on figuring out who made this knife. It's a military style, looks sort of like a K-Bar with a leather sheat backed at the bottom with a type of thin metal and had a place for a stone. The handle is made of leather rings swelled in the middle and has a octagon shaped pomel. The only markings found are Ontario and the numbers 01-86.
It's in pretty good shape considering how long it has laid hidden in my buds shop. Thanks for any help.
