A Little Skinner
I take a couple of days off and end up working my tail off. This was made for a gentleman, at his request I used stag for the handle. I dressed it up with a little stabilized buckeye. The guard is bronze with the pommel being blued wrought iron. The blade was forged from 15n20 & 1095, folded to 224 layers. One of these day's I'll get a press, cause dang, that 10lb sledge though.

A 10 LB SLEDGE?! Yeesh! I have a press and I still think I'm worn out after welding a billet. Anyway, looks like it worked out just fine.
On the next one, consider grinding a choil in front of the guard and about a half inch up. This adds a nice design element to the blade and takes out the bottom portion of the plunge cut which so many of us have trouble keeping sharply defined (I almost always use this method because my plunges have always been troubled) . Doing this also removes the need for the little notch in the edge since the choil can perform the same function .... |

I may try that on the next one Ray. On this one I forged in the bevel and as such I don't really know how to make that transition cleanly the way you describe.

Thanks guys. I don't have arms like the Hulk. I'm built like the lumberjacks of the 1800's. Lean and mean, double on the lean. I need a belt to hold up my pants. lol.
