A Fathers Gift

Had a father with his two boys approach me at the Canadian Guild show. He wanted to order a knife for the younger of the two boys. I was quite impressed with the boys aged 9 and 11. They were respectful and careful but yet very curious. The father asked if I would be interested in making the knife. I don't normally take specific orders but decided that this was one of those times that I would enjoy the experience. The son picked out which model he liked, suprising not the one either his older brother or his Dad had suggested. We picked out the stainless damascus from Mike Mossington's table, he picked out the slabs. This is how it looks all together. I still need to send this off to have some internal engraving done.
Thanks for looking.
Steve

That's one hell of a first knife. It definitely puts the old boy scout knife I was given to shame.

Steve

I wonder if that dad would like to adopt a 6ft8 54 year old son. ROFL

Jdale was correct that is one hell of a knife let alone a first knife.

Great work!! That 9 yr old will be grinning from ear to ear when he gets that knife.

By the way what handle material did you use?

Thanks for sharing.

Jeff

Great looking knife! Just beautiful, I like the kids choice on Material.

One question I'm wondering if its just the angle of the picture but it looks like the bolster edges aren't etched?

Thanks for the interest. All the edges are etched. I think what you may be seeing is just a hair of the ti sticking out. I will fix that before it goes out.
Thanks
Steve

Lovely knife! That will be a proud owner, and possibly a future knife maker!
