adhesive help please
i like the functionality of kydex sheaths but i dont like how they scuff up the blade so much. i was thinking about taking a stretchable fabric(some sort of velveteen?) and adhering it to a piece of kydex then molding a sheath out of it with the soft fabric on the inside to avoid scuffs. has anyone seen this done?
i need a flexible, heat resistant, preferably spray-on adhesive that will bond fabrics and pvc. i found some products made by 3m and others that will work except they are only stable to 200degrees. does anyone have any recommendations? some sort of rubber might work but the only rubbers ive used were too thick and had to be smeared on...too hard to get a uniform thin layer. thanks! -jason |

i would shape the sheath then use a good contact cement and line it then put it together i dont know if it will stick to the kidex but if you do it that way you dont have to wory about how hot the glue can go

That's the way i do it and if it's a fold over design just pry it open and put a block of something to hold it while you glue in your liner.
