Unhappy 1/2 in. X 3/4 in. cut

Just areminder folks, tape up those blades. I was drilling holes in the handle, it wasn't even sharp yet, the metal caught, the knife spun and viola I'm bleeding all over the shop. I know better, but I got so involved in what I was doing that I forgot the first and last rule inside any shop--- SAFETY!!!
Another lesson learned.

Angry Ouch

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Also, just a tip: When drilling handles drill through the left side of the knife blank. Picture the blade spinning and instead of the sharp part being the leading edge the spine is leading.

If you were drilling on a drill press, there is a cheap vise you can get that bolts to the drill press table and works like vise grips, i have one and it comes in very handy!!! Also i have been there too on the spining the metal around, just never sliced myself!! Sorry to hear that!!
