Spring loaded punch holder
Hi all,
I found a spring loaded punch holder at harbor freight, would this work for stamping my initials onto my blade, or would I be better off stamping free hand with a 3 lb sledge. Thanks for any input. Happy Hammering!!!! Uncle Buck |

I don't know what a spring loaded punch holder looks like but I know that knife makers are creative, inventive people. If you think it has possibilities then buy one and try it. Modify it until it will do what you want it to do if that's what it takes and then let us know how it worked out. If it doesn't work then the cost was the price of education .....

I use a modified arbor press.I took the ram out and milled a slot for the stamp and made an extension piece for the top of the ram to hit against so the ram doesn't get mushroomed over. This way you can secure the blade with the handle and strike. Much cleaner way. I think it's Riverside machine that carries a version of the same.Dave
