My newest Damascus Bowie (pic)

Please let me know what you think of this one.The Blade is 8 7/8 inches long of random pattern Damascus with a long un-sharpened back edge, the guard is a shield shape from nickel Silver, the pins are also Nickel silver. The handle is Framed from The same Damascus bar that was used for the Blade and then I put Cow bone scales that I dyed with some different colors of dye and then stabilized. The handle length is 4 1/2 inches long.
I am trying something new with the bone and I was wondering what you thought about it.
Bruce

That's one incredible blade. What did you use to dye the cow bone scales? The effect is subtle, but very nice. Do I see filework on the spine as well?

Yes Chris there is filework on bothe the spine and the riccasso area of this knife.
As for the bone,I used some different colors of leather dye and wetted the bone with acetone and then bled the colors in just as you would if you was doing a water color painting. This stopped the startk transitions as when I just brushed the dyes on.

Awesome as always Bruce!! The handle turned out fantastic too. It looks to me as if it has a mammoth ivory flavor to it.

Bruce, as usual it's a good-looking knife.

That cow bone is quite special with your treatment. I agree that it has a mammoth ivory look to it, certainly in the photograph.
