One Big Knife
Normally you don't get to see prototypes but I thought a first reaction would be nice. Mark Hazen just roughed out this one and is now getting ready to get serious with it. About the only change I know of, is he plans to change the front guard to stainless. The top of the 9" blade is ground for chopping and bottom for cutting. |

Now that is an ugly, ugly knife! It has a certain brutal appeal......like an Aston Martin I think that a stainless guard will make a difference. In fact it's pretty much a requirement on a knife like that. I just might want one of those.... Roger |

Man ... That thing could tear up some "jack", couldn't it? I'm not sure what they mean by "tearing up jack", but if a knife could do it, there it is! Wow ... Roger's right ... S/S on the Guard and it's perfect! Alex |

Sure has "authority" and looks like it might be very useful in a tropical forest setting. Handle of linen micarta? Yup - SS for the guard. Mark, the thong hole looks a tad skinny in the pic - another 1/16th or so diameter? Big knives are not my favorite generally but this looks like it could do the job without getting in the way. Solid design and then some. Thanks Mark and for the great pic Terry. John |
