Gents folder - elephant ivory
Here is the first of two Wharncliff Gents locking liner folder. Just snapped a couple of quick pictures before the sun went down. So you all can judge it. Let me know what you think. I also modified the thumb stud. To a smooth cone with insert of oosic. As shown in photo above. Not knurled like photo below. Specs: ATS-34 Handrubbed satin finish on Blade 3 3/4 inches closed 6 1/2 opened Satin finish on stainless steel bolsters. Elephant Ivory bark handles dovetailed into bolsters Deep Bronze anodized titanium liners, jewelled inside Thanks Several people asked about the other side and some about how it looked closed so here it is all in one photo: Thanks |

Very nice. It is interesting, the blade actually looks longer than 2.5 inches. Well balanced design. ghostdog |

Thanks for all the kind comments and encouragement. Dogman, I haven't put a price on this one yet. Actually I have been thinking about trying to get enough knives ready to attend my first show. So I thought about holding on to this one. I was thinking about the Spirit of Steel Show in Dallas this September, since I live close and could drive back and forth. That would make it easy on the pocket book. Only thing is I don't know how many knives I need to take to a show. I think I could get 6 or maybe, maybe, possible, 8 ready by then. Would you all think that is enough to justify a table, considering I am a part time maker anyway. Or just wait another year? I'll know by middle of August if I can have the knives made. Of course I'm going to the show, table or no table. : |

Tony, you gotta start somewhere. If you can have 6 or 8 knives (that you are proud of) ready, I'd say go for it. On the other hand, if hurrying to get them finished might cause you to put forward something less than your best work, I'd wait 'til next year. |

I'm glad this thread popped back up to the top. That really is a beautiful folder. Shame we can't see elephant ivory more often. It really works with that satin finish on the steel. Roger |
