Most good quality equipment blades are made of great steel for knives. sometimes if you contact the maker, they will tell you what kind of steel they use. I once contacted a german maker of some grove cutting blades that were given to me, and they told me it was ck-101, which is close to 1095. but nice work on your knife sir. Im sure you father will enjoy using it.
