Terry Vandeventer's 5th Annual Hammer-In ABS MS

Terry Vandeventer's
5th Annual Hammer-In
for Bladesmiths, Knifemakers & Collectors of Fine Cutlery

You are invited to an informal event at my shop in Byram, Mississippi on Saturday Feb 13, 2010. 8:00 am until 5:00. This will be an opportunity for knife makers, collectors, and enthusiast of all levels to get together for a little blade talk, teaching, sharing of information, and some hands-on activities. This event is just for fun and learning, and is free of charge.

Demonstrations and activities will be taking place throughout the day, along with a mini knife show. Since seating is limited, you might consider bringing a folding chair(s) for your personal comfort. Dress warmly since some activities will be held outside or under a canopy.

THE MORE, THE MERRIER - SPREAD THE WORD! If you have a friend who makes or collects knives, and who did not receive an invitation, please notify them or bring them along.

Soft drinks and bottled water will be available. The Mississippi Forge Council will be meeting with us and will be cooking food for lunch! Yey the MFC!

Mini Knife Show! Be sure to bring your handcrafted knifes to lay out for display and/or sale. Supplies, tools, etc., for sale are welcome, too. Don't be shy about your work. We all started out as beginners and there is always room to learn and improve. In the past knives have been sold and traded at this event so don?t forget. We want collectors and customers here as well as makers, so spread the word! Note: Since the general public will not be present, you should not expect this to be a big sales event. But who knows? Maybe you'll sell a little hunter that will pay for your gas and you can take the wife out to dinner!

Collectors! Here is an opportunity to meet the makers and see how the process of fabricating your beautiful knife begins and ends. Be sure to bring a few examples of handmade cutlery from your collection for display. Trading and selling during the day is fine and encouraged!

Directions: Call me at (601) 371-7414 if you get lost

We are located in Byram, about nine miles south of Jackson just off of I-55.

FROM Hwy 49 Coming from the south, turn west at the first traffic light in Florence. This is Florence/Byram Road. Stay on this winding road for about 12-15 miles, crossing the Pearl River, until you come to I-55. Cross overpass over I-55 at which point Florence/Byram Road becomes Siwell Road, and follow next instructions:

FROM I-55 Take the Byram Exit #85 (Texaco, McDonald?s). Do not take the Terry Exit. Proceed west about 2 ? miles on Siwell Road. You will come to a traffic light so get into your left turn lane. You can see Kroger just ahead. Turn left at the light onto Davis Road. We are the 3rd gravel driveway on the right (large brown house with gray metal roof). Bowie knife on mail box. ***Please park in the large gravel lot across the street at KidKare.

FROM CLINTON Go south on Springridge Road. Turn left onto McRaven Road. Turn Right onto Siwell Road and continue south. Cross Hwy 18 and continue. Immediately past Kroger at the traffic light, turn right onto Davis Road. We are the 3rd gravel driveway on the right (large brown house with gray metal roof). Bowie knife on mail box. ***Please park in the large gravel lot across the street at KidKare.

Hope to see you here!
