Why? Why? I think this is the old How do you keep an idiot in suspense joke. I am going to drive over to Koval tomorrow to pick up a KMG-1, I know Darrel is somewhere over there. Don't make me hunt you down!! Of course I would be carrying a wicked checkbook!! Anxiously waiting to see these. Dan |

Re: New Folders
They arrive in Atlanta tomorrow morning for filming. I hesitate to talk a bunch of junk about how cool they actually are. This I can tell you: 1) There is nothing available that even comes close to these designs in the kit market. Both designs are Darrel Ralph's awnser to what modern kits should be. 2) These will come in blade grinds that will blow your mind. No folder kits have ever attempted these blade profiles before. 3) These are in a new catagory that we're defining here: ("Gentleman-Killers") That being said, they are both designed for the Black Tie, James Bond type user market...where you really have the need to look crisp all the time, but might have to end up canceling a bad guy's contract before the party is over. : 4) Alex would carry either one, personally ... The best description I can give, is this... "If you wear a Rolex, carry a breifcase and might have to kick some A%$ occasionally, either of these bad boy's in blacklip pearl is your man!" How's that? Don't forget, I write ad copy for a living ... ha! Really... Darrel has worked intensely on these 2 designs for a while now, they were presented to a couple of our biggest dealers before we decided to pull the hammer, to get their reaction. The first run on both models is nearly sold out, pre-production. We're going to keep a few back, just to make sure we have some for direct KK customers. These will have all the handle options ready to go, before they hit the streets. Like I said earlier, these designs will open a whole new ballgame, as there is nothing close to them, anywhere. I can't wait for you to see these! Alex |

Re: New Folders
Alex & Darrell, Thanks for your work! It's been WELL worth the wait! Thes knives are really going to take off. Dealers will take notice soon too, so I'd advise forumites to GET ON THE LIST! Those kits are so unlike anything offered, that everyone will want to take part. I passed my EVN knife around to the 20-24 TKCL list folks at our dinner in NYC a couple of weeks ago (They were all familiar with it from my previous posts!) and it was VERY well received. The action and finish is, as you say, right there with the best of them. (Noted knifemaker George Dailey commented that with NO mark on the blade, he might as well take it and sell it with his mark!! All in jest, but he was commenting on the quality!) What you don't get is the PRIDE of ownership from a particular maker. What you DO get is the PRIDE of accomplishment with your own self-designs. It's a pretty good trade! Alex, If you had input on both or any of these designs, then my hat's off to you! (Darrell--your head has swelled WAY to big already!! As it should! )I can see those daggers REALLY looking like an 'Art Knife' with the availability of materials for handles. There is a latent talent (?!) in everyone that is going to surface with these knives! Tomorrow morning I am going to my good friends woodworking workshop to do some scale fitting on the two DDR's I have. Little by little I am learning. Looking forward to your announcement of delivery. In the meantime, I'm GETTIN' BUSY! Coop |
