Western Engraved Knife

Hello
I just finished this knife up and thought I would post some pictures. It had bone scales, which I removed. I then made new scales from red brass, overlaid them onto the knife and then engraved the new scales. Any ideas, thoughts or input is appreciated.

Hey cave man, that just looks great , i do like that bright cut style , I don't think it would look good on colts .. thanks for posting .. ron p.

Thanks for the comment on my knife. No your right that style would not look good on a colt. The western style is just that, a style used for buckles, spurs and the occasional knife. One of these days I hope to get where my firearms style looks good enough to put on a gun, but for now it will have to wait

mike ... your engraving is just right for guns, but like you said the bright cut is not good for guns . so post some of your gun engraving work .. ron p.

Very interesting and creative Mike. I was taught bright cut engraving by Johnny Weyerts, a engraver in Alpine, texas. I did not persue it enough to become a good hand at it, but it was quite fun just learning all the techniques. Thanks for sharing your work!

Hello, I to went to class with Johnny. Your right it was a great class. I would like to get back down that way and take an advanced class, but will just have to see. Hey yall getting any of this rain?
