I'm a bone head!
I'm at work right now (11:00P to 7:30A). Well..., at 3:15A, I was inspecting a damaged katana my co-worker brought in for me to look at.
Six stitches later, I understand why one should never attempt to catch a falling katana. Did I mention that I work in a hospital? I hope this doesn't rob me of my shop time this weekend! I have a KITH knife to finish among others. (Sure is hard to type with this big bandage on my finger!! __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

well katana's are quite good at their job. The secret to catching falling katana's or any knife/sword for that matter is dont drop them
btw what's a kith? Ed __________________ Gold is for the mistress - silver for the maid Copper for the craftsman cunning in his trade. "Good!" said the Baron, sitting in his hall But steel - cold steel is master of them all. Rudyard Kipling (1865 - 1936) |

Ouch! next time grab the handle.
Ed; KITH= Knife In The Hat, usualy with a theme for the type/size of knives, a group of makers all make a knife and the , the guy organizing it draws names and they all exchange them. everbody makes one, and everybody gets one. I like doing them for the challenge, since my quality is ussualy better when I know another maker is getting it. It gets your name and work "out there" for us new guys, and you get to start your own colection of customs. there's 3 on now; AndrewGs' combat kith; http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=35724 the christmas kith; http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=37001 and the SITH, a seax kith; http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=35719 G. __________________ http://ak-adventurer.net/ Gary Blessing, Ex-custom knife maker, Ex-Folder modifier & embelisher. |

That sucks Andy, between that and your Seax breaking, you have to be in for some good luck!
Isn't being a bonehead a good thing? I mean otherwise your head would be all squishy and stuff Ed, as Gary said, KITH are fun to do and meet others. I was in all of the ones below until unexpected scale destruction happened on my seax (I believe Andy had unexpected seax problems also). I like them, because they tend to push me out of my comfort zone into new things. --Carl __________________ --Carl N-T Porkin' Pig Price ??
