Barrel Jig
Got nothin' to do with knives so forgive me ahead of time...
I want to make some sort of jig/ fixture to hold pistol barrels as I engrave them and I want it to rotate like it was between two live centers. I know some of you do guns and wonder what you use or how you handle this problem of clamping and un-clamping every time you need to get a better angle on the area you're working on whether it be lettering, scroll work, or barrel band inlays??? Please post a photo if possible or email me at wingnut300@hotmail.com __________________ "Tell about things just as they was, they don't need no excuse, Don't touch 'em up like the poets does, 'til they're all too fine for use."--James Whitcomb Riley |

Tim you may want to try jett-sett or the stuff GRS sales. It get soft and pliable when warm and rock hard when cool. You can use a microwave or hot water too heat it. You can mold it how ever you want and while it's soft leave enough on the bottom to squish in the vise. Then to remove it you can use hot water or a hair drier.
