Interframe by Bailey Bradshaw
I like this design by Bailey Bradshaw, MS. The blade is his "Tornado" damascus, 3 1/8 in and a classic bowie shape. OAL is 7 1/4 in. Weight is 2 1/2 oz. Mammoth Ivory with a lot of color, deep relief American Leaf Scroll, gold rope frame, tail-lock - a real sweet gent's folder. I've seen a couple of others around dressed out differently - all very nice. Awfully easy to reach for each morning when I'm looking to put a knife in my pocket.

Oh man, I'm loving that one Buddy..I think that's one of the nicer folders I've seen lately. I'm sure its tight as a drum too, or it wouldn't be in your collection..Great score there, and beautifully photographed again..Best, Rich

Great choices Buddy, both for your pocket, and your collection! My wife loves the bear in the picture, and is courious about the story behind it (she's a bear collector/freak).

Hey guys! Glad you all liked this one. I think Bailey's got himself a nice design here. There's just something about that classic bowie blade - in a small folding package.........!
Robert - That bear is a Zuni fetish. |

Correction - Regarding the style of engraving I should quote Bailey: "The style of engraving is sculpted American scroll. The scrolls are cut, the background removed very deeply. I use several different shaped chisles to sculpt the scrolls and leaves, then use stones to polish the sculpting and remove any marks left by the chisles. Last is to frost the scroll with a fine abrasive blasting and blacken the background."
Kevin - I'll bring this one for sure. Here's another image of this knife: Last edited by Buddy Thomason; 03-24-2005 at 11:23 AM. |
