Nephrite Jade KITH Knife

This is my first posting in the display case. It is not my first knife, as I have done some stock removal knives before, but is the first that I actually have pics of.

KITH Pics

This Knife was my first forged blade, and my first Neo-tribal styled piece (no power tools on the blade, the handle I had to make an exception . The blade is about 7" long, and was forged on stone. (A granite tombstone, that simply refused to polish, and has been adopted as my anvil). It was forged from a 3/4 inch craftsman wrench, you can still see the heritage in the ring end. I had planned to forge a NT Karambit, but the blade had other ideas and ended up kind of Seax-y. The blade was given a Bullseye Steak sauce patina. The handle is nephrite Jade, and the pins and bolsters are 416 SS. The Sheath is nickel silver.

David Johansen the KITH recipient, has taken some very nice pictures for me, and here they are.

Thanks for looking.

Thumbs up

Very, very nice, Dean! A good looking knife and sheath combo. "The Tombstone Anvil Forge". - Jim

KITH stands for Knife in the Hat. It was a draw held on the Outpost Forum.
Everyone in the draw made a Knife, and then at the end, the names are drawn, and you send your knife out to someone, and someone else sends a knife to you.

Good times hand by all!
