Rebar and bone....

Spent yesterday working on this one. The blade is 60 GRADE rebar, it's 5 3/4" and over all 10 3/4". The handle is deer leg bone I processed last year and the fitting on this one are 1018 and a wrought iron butt nut. Yes, 60 Grade rebar has enough carbon in it to harden up just fine....

Nice Ray, you one busy bladesmith. I finished some work today and spent a few minutes testing the fly press at drawing some 1/4 X 1 mild steel. Need to post an image.

Hope the show goes well for yu, you sure have been on the move here lately!
Great looking blade as usual!
Question: to you bring your tang to a small taper and thread it, or do you weld on a allthread tang?
Just curious.

God Bless

Mike

Thanks for the imput, also wondering
do you make your own screw head things
(hows that for a techinical term!)
and if so, whats the thread size that works best for you. And have you found a size of allthread that works best?

Sure do like the style you have developed, practical, yet classy, aged, yet pristine.

God Bless

Mike

Mike, I've got to feed my cows and start heading South. I'll get back to you on the ring nuts and such....

Mike, I just got back from the show and I'm pretty spaced out. Last 50 miles back home it was snowing. Each ring nut is made by me and there ain't two that are the same. Believe the thread size I'm liking the best is 8/32 if I'm thinking clearly.

The show was pretty good, went with very little expectations and sold a high end knife before it even opened. Things slowed down after that but it really made my day......
