my first attempt
Well, here's my first attempt at building a knife from a kit. At least now I have an idea of what I want to do next time |

WELL DONE JIM! It's a small achievement to get one of these done with the rudimentary tools and skills we collectors have. If you're like me you have a BUNCH of great knives in your collection that overshadow anything we can do on our first effort. Don't much matter. This one has YOU all over it! Where did you get it, and did you do that sheath, too? Give us some specs! That wood looks great! How did you shape and finish it? ALL entries are welcome! Coop |

It's a 440c blade from Texas Knife. That wood may have been wood at one time but any resemblence today is purely coincidental. Lot's of sanding for shaping. I think I need to take some more off. It feels too thick and I'm not sure I really like the shape. Working on my KnifeKits now. Soon, soon. I tell you this much. If the real knifemakers want to stay in business all they need to do is send a kit to each collector. And THEY make it look so easy |
