Handle material??
Here is an integral hunter that Charlie has roughed out and close to being ready to heat treat. He is looking for some ideas on the type of handle material you think would look best. I am kind of leaning toward some stag. It's got a four inch blade of D2 steel. Opinions requested.

I think some Amboyna burl would really set it off.

The first thing that came to mind for me was Snakewood. I'm picturing it with red/orange toned woods like amboyna, cocobolo, camphor, palm, etc. Make sure to post photos when you decide upon a handle material!

I'm envisioning ivory micarta slabs, with reconstituted turquoise inlet on each side of the handle.

No matter what you put in there, it's going to be one nice looking knife!

I am voting for either the snakewood or the desert ironwood.

We use a good bit of snakewood and I think that it would look fantastic on this integral. So many good looking handle materials to choose from. Most of the time we know just by looking at the blade, what we think would look best. Charlie is still up in the air on this one. I guess it has to do with the amount of dust created during the grinding of the blade. I imagine Coop will get a chance to post a picture as soon as he finishes it up. Thanks for the input. On this and the other forum the majority went for the stag. We'll just have to wait and see.
