Hi Nathan,
The camera and the lens are incredible. Nice details. VERY sharp. My comments from your previous critique thread apply to this one as well. Same thing. That's me. Thanks, Coop |

I'm not a pro, but I can tell you what I think
There's an odd pink reflection off the front of the knife. I don't know if that's intentional or from some incidental light, but pink doesn't go with the knife. The background is also kind of busy. It's the right kind of background for the knife, but all the velcro tabs and straps and pouches are distracting. Overally, I think the picture is too dark. It gives the aura of a knife for "covert" activities, but I feel like I'm looking at the knife in a dimly lit room. Nice knife!!! |

Thanks for the input....Coop thanks for the link and the input..Coop there was hardly any PP after the shot..just adjusted the levels a little..I am going to try a new set up and buy some better lights to have a wider beam of light ....

Nathan, my two cents worth. Really not a bad shot. I would take care of the change in the background in the upper left. You may want to rotate the knife a bit for a more dramatic effect. Use a reflector to bounce a bit of light back to the front side of the handle. The "red" accent either needs to be dropped completely or made stronger. Just my thoughts but you are of to a good start.

Hi Nathan - Here is a re-work of your image taking into account some of the suggestions that have been made - just one possible way to go. I hope the visual comparison is helpful. You are getting very good resolution with your equipment and have a good eye for composition. Glad to see you participating here and hope you'll continue.

Buddy..thanks...I have shots like that but I think it does not showcase the hollow grinds.I want a balance between shadows and contrast..keeping it moody but crisp at the same time..That is something hard to do..I guess it will come with pratice...thanks for the input
