First post, and no particular indication of whether or not you want critique.
I'd say it shows some promise. You have a couple of ideas working that are good. I'm not a fan of rivets. Good sewing technique will yield a strong enough holster or sheath that you don't really need all those rivets. I'm also not really a fan of holsters that leave the trigger accessible. In most cases, that's a recipe for disaster. I see why you did it that way for this particular holster, but you might want to avoid that in future endeavors. If you decide to expand your skills, check out the videos produced by Chuck Burrows or Paul Long. Both of them have been known to hang out here and both have excellent videos that will help you with design and technique. You also might want to check out leatherworker.net. It's a great bunch of leather folks and lots of good info and patterns around there. Thanks for posting your work and we hope to see more. __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |

This is a BB gun only. I use rivets and strap in the same fashion as the Don Hume holster I fashioned this from. Sure, I can accept constructive criticism because it only helps to be a good listener. Usually I only make knife sheaths that must have metal reinforcement because of the sharpness of the blade edges. This is my first gun holster.
Please be patient with my response time I have no computer. My notifications are off to allow for less traffic on the android I access the web with. |

The El Paso Saddlery Spyder shoulder system is a great rig. It would work well for a 4" DA.
