New Knifemaking FAQ available

I decided to write down a bunch of the questions I get asked on a regular basis and provide MY version of the answers. I have added a few pictures to help my explainations that I got from a few of the CKD member web pages. I give the name of the person I got the picture from as well as a link to their web page. Please let me know if anyone wants their picture or name removed and I will remove it immediately.

If anyone has any suggestions for more questions to be added (and answered) just let me know and I can ad them. I may try to improve the look of the page when I do a rewrite of my web page which will hopefully happen before too long.

This was a lot of typing and many hours at the keyboard so if anyone sees mistakes, please let me know.

Hope this helps somone.

Hey Bob, that is a very nice FAQ. Thank you for devoting the time to write it. One part of it is a little confusing though. When you talk about "What is a pin vise?" did you mean to say "Pin Press"? When I think of a pin vise, I think of a little handle to hold small files and small drill bits. Other than that, Great Job!

Pin Press is correct. Told you I was at it for a while. It has been fixed.

Fantastic! Thanks Bob, a quick and informative reference. Can we get a BIG FAQ button for it?

Bob

Truely wonderful!!!!!!! Thank you for the time and effort that you put into helping us with questions. Not only with the FAQ's but with every reply that you give to any other question. You are a valuable asset to those seeking help here.

I think you should have posted your pic of your Damascus railroad spike on your FAQ though. Just add that if you want to guarentee the quality of the spike, you will have to make your own. For those questioning what I am talking about, Bob posted a pic some time ago of a Damascus spike knife that he forged himself.

Thanks again Bob
Brian

I may do that. I am re-writing my web site right now and may add the picture to the FAQ.

If anyone is interested, here is the not so great picture.
