BM42 or Cold Steel

I want to purchase a good quality balisong...For years I ve settled with mediocre balis but feel I am going to go out and spend a few hundred on a good one....I saw the cold steel knives on zilla...But also the bm42 that is probably sold out now...Any suggestions???? I do like the "arc angel" model by cold steel..Please help

I'd definitely go with the bm42 - it's the gold standard of balisongs. If you're in to balis for any length of time, you will end up with one anyway, so it's a good place to start!

Welcome Stan .., no need to add another vote for a BM 42. As Dave said.., it's been the standard "non-junk" starter knife for years now, and is generally the "Gateway to the Customs"...

You could also get a Typhoon kit if you feel handy. Darn nice knife for the money.

Red face Bali Kits

You know i tried making my own balisong about 6 years ago...It was basically a trainer with silver handles and a cheap bali blade...it lasted better than those old pakistinian factory made knives that i bought by the dozens!!!!If i ever set up a good solid workplace in my home..guaranteed to try again!!!

Thumbs up the kits

These kits are amazing!!! What better way than to create your own Bali!!! Although for now i will be purchasing the Benchmade Custom Model 31 LTD Edition !!!! Cant wait until it comes!!!!
