Best Book or Tape on Belt Grinding
Hi,
I have just started learning to grind knife blades on a KMG grinder and would like to know if there are one or two good books or tapes on the subject of how to flat-grind, etc., on a belt grinder that someone could recommend as a good starter. I have heard that one can either hold the blade to the belt by locking ones wrists against their waists and then moving their whole body side-to-side or to using a work rest with a half-round bar clamped in place so that the blade can be slid across this and also rocked a bit while grinding (I am not real sure if this is actually what is done with the half-round bar). I think my learning process would be a lot faster if I had enough tips to start on. Appreciate the recorded media recommendations and also the personal tips on belt grinding. Thanks much, Mario |

Go to Geno's site. He sells videos and several of them are grinding related. Probably the best you will find anywhere.

Harvey Dean's video on flat grinding was popular enough that you could never find it anywhere...lol. If you go to his web site, ha has them now on DVD.
