Having my folks near......

This is sort of a spin-off of the Easter thread........ I've had many people ask me how it is to have my parents nearby now, and I'm here to tell you it is wonderful!
I never really knew just how much I was missing for all those years that we lived far apart. Yesterday (Easter), my wife, daughter, and I went to my folks house, and then out to dinner. Sounds like a simple thing right? It was, but just having the ability to do that was so great! I'm starting to realize all the wisdom, caring, and love that I've missed over the years by not being near them. You can bet that I'll be with them as much as possible, enjoying their company, and relishing the time we spend together. In fact I'm going to end this right now, and head over to Dad & Mom's for a morning cup of coffee! THIS IS GREAT!!!

Ed,

Speaking from a parent's viewpoint, it works both ways.

My son and daughter in law live in Dallas and my wife and I live in Houston. We don't get to be with them as much as we would like and would love to have them close. Especially on days like yesterday (Easter). My daughter is always saying "if my brother lived here, he could be having as much fun doing this as we are" and that could be something as simple as sitting on the patio and grilling steaks.

Congratulations on getting your parents close.

Enjoy them while you can.
