two questions
im useing a brick propane forge if i leave the knife in a grove on the bottom will the blade heat up too much before the tang(what with it being thinner) also when i temper in the oven (kitchen) can i just lie the knife on its side on the middle rack or do i need to prop it up some how?

if you're doing an edge quench, a groove in the brick is fine.
i made a little rack from a piece of aluminun channel to set the blades in while tempering. just file a coule of slots to set them in. what part of Pa. ya from? __________________ If it isn't sharp it's only a screwdriver. ------------- Birdog Forge, com |
