Deployed because of "Katrina"

Hello Everyone!

I have been deployed to the "Gulf Shores" as part of my job with the fire dept.

At this time all I can say is the I will be gone from my family for at least 30 days.

I will pop in here as I'm able.

Thanks BeBe

Be safe, and keep in touch if possible. I know you will miss your family.

Welcome to the Third Coast!

Considering the area you are going to, I would urge you to pack really good mosquito repellent (Avon's Skin So Soft works the best). Likewise, you might consider some sun block. Also, watch for snakes. Water moccasins (cottonmouths) and copperheads are pretty common. The cottonmouths are agressive and the copperheads are well camoflaged.

And if someone gets up a game of boure' (boo-ray), just don't do it. It's a Cajun word meaning "card-game-to-take-all-your-money".

The Gulf Coast - beautiful women and animals that can eat you!

I thank God every day for letting me live here!

This is actually a gator taken on a friend's property just south of Houston. 'Gators had been eating his deer and calves. His wife is smiling because he hasn't yet told her he expects her to cook that thing up.

Yeah, 'gators not bad if it's done right. They also had some pretty good sausage made from some of the wild hogs on the property.

I'M HOME, after 30 days I'm finally home, and it's good to be here.

Now if I can get all the "honey do" items on my LARGE list done, I may be able to do some knife work (ya, right) .
