KITH - Knife in the hat
Basically if you decide to join in , you make whatever it is this time ( arrowhead). The administrator of the KITH randomly picks who gets whose arrowhead and we all end up with someone elses. There is a great thread if you do the search on the whole philosophy behind it but it comes down to we all do our best and understand that whoevers knife (or in this case arrowhead) you get did their best as well. Hope that helps Steve __________________ Stephen Vanderkolff Please come on over and check out my website. http://www.vanderkolffknives.com/ Thanks |

Steve, helps alot--thanks. do you take into consideration (not condemnation), that what you get may well be only the third or fourth "forged" item ever made by the sender, and to them its the best they can do, today, (with miles of room for improvement)----but to some it may just be another piece of scrap metal. mike

Mike
If you do a search for KITH then find the thread from Dana Acker on thought for the Kith or Prizzim's thread on " not losing sight" both are good examples of the ought process behind the KITH. Both say it better than I ever could. Steve __________________ Stephen Vanderkolff Please come on over and check out my website. http://www.vanderkolffknives.com/ Thanks |

Mike,
Read the posts that Chris linked to. This comes at a good time too. Have been drawing out arrowheads in meatings for the last couple of weeks, and this will force me off my butt and out to the shop to try a few of the ideas out. Anyone have any links they really like for inspiration? I'll start with a couple from my recent wanderings looking for Yanone (japanese arrowheads) inspiration. http://www.ncjsc.org/gloss_yanone.htm http://www.arco-iris.com/George/yanone.htm --Carl |

Cool, we'll call it a go then! I'll get a page up this weekend with the details (dates, who's in, etc.) and such. I need to update my email profile since "firing" compuserve last week, but my current contact info will be on the page I'll get up this weekend.
