Question Need Help With Propane Forge

I am attempting to build a propane forge from a refrigerant container and need to know if it is best to build it with dual doors (front and rear), or is it fine to make it with just a front door as long as I line the whole interior with inswooland,satanite/ITC 100. Another thing I would like to know is if it is better to use 1" or 2" inswool ? I do not plan to do any forging in this due to the fact of having my coal forge if the need arrises.
Any help on this will be appreciated.

check this link out freon tank forge It has everything you need to know on making this type of forge. Please use caution when cutting open any type closed container. If you can avoid using a torch do so because if freon catches fire its highly posinous. Theres my .02 cents worth

P.s. have the valve open on it a couple days before working on it.

I can't give any advice on the doors, but... if you can fit it in there, I'd go with 2" of inswool, since you can always turn the heat down should it get too hot... You can only go so far up in heat, tho...

If you're using the same freon tank as is shown in the link kbud gave, you shouldn't have any problem with 2"... I put 2" into a coffee-can forge this past weekend....

Let us know how it turns out

What kind of work are you planing on doing with this forge? If you are going to do some welding be sure to put a firebrick bottom on it " that hot flux will eat anything " . Also before you put the firebrick in "if you do" mix some satinite and some cheap clay kittylitter for the underside of the brick. You can also put some kittylitter on top of the brick When it heats up the clay will glaze over and can be removed when ever needed. Spending an extra 4.00$ will save you more in the long run
