Two skinners and a Spicewood Special

Here's a nice knife in my Spicewood Special model. The satin finished blade is 1084, with mirror polished 416 bolsters. The tang is tapered thin, down to 1/16 at the butt of the knife. The handle is Sambar stag. OAL is 7 1/4 with a 3 1/4 blade. Tooled sheath is my work as well.

Second and third, a pair of skinner/ utility knives. Of all the knives I make, these are the style I would prefer to carry. Both are 7 1/2 OAL with a 2 3/4 blade, both satin finished and RC 60. Both come with sheaths. The brown one is cocobolo wood on D2 steel. The green one is linen micarta with white micarta liners on CM154 steel.

Thanks for looking.

Jason,Your work is some of the best I have seen. Very clean and elegant. I surf around looking at pictures of knives A LOT and I always stop and take a look at yours .Your style is easily recognized and your designs look beautiful and functional .If I didnt make knives myself yours are what I would want to buy.

Jason, I really love all the knives you make and have a pic of that Spicewood Special as inspiration for my bolster making. The bolsters are phenomenal and I love the lines.

I just ground down the pins and profile on a set I installed on a skinner of mine. Not exactly like yours but I will make a similar set soon. I can't believe how much time and effort goes into a set of bolsters, and it seems fewer maker's knives have them nowadays. Thanks for the inspiration!
