Motor question...
This is a little off topic but I got a replacement motor for my home built grinder. It says it's a 2hp "compressor duty" motor. Any ideas about what this means? Is this a light duty motor? Is this unfit for a grinder? It's counter-clockwise too so I have to turn it around backwards to get it to spin my belt correctly. I'm just wondering if I got a decent motor for this grinder. Thanks, Derek Melton www.derekmelton.com |

DEREK, IF THE MOTOR TURNS 1700 RPM OR MORE IT WILL PROBABLY WORK FINE. CHECK THE METAL LABEL TO SEE IF THE MOTOR CAN BE REVERSED. IF THE MOTOR IS NOT A TEFC KIND YOU WILL HAVE TO KEEP ITHE WINDINGS BLOWN OUT. KEN (WWJD) |
