Quick update from SOS guys.... I just witnessed my first cutting competition and man, what entertainment that was! I have a world of respect for all the guys who stepped up in front of their peers and a sizable crowd and put their knives to the test. A lot of the tasks were much more difficult than they might first appear and fully challenged the cutting ability of both maker and blade. The results:

3rd place: J.W. Randall - REALLY impressive at a number of the tasks.
2nd place: Dickie Robinson - a model of consistency.
1st place: The Sharpest Man in Texas and current reigning World Champ - Reggie Barker. When Reggie gets his game face on, watch out!

A full show review will follow early next week.

It was great meeting you Les - I wish I had more funds to relieve you of more than one of the awesome knives you had available. But I'm REAL happy with the one I got.

Cheers,

Roger

I agree on the cutting competition it was nicely done. I don't think I could stand out there and try the various cutting event with any knife. It was a light hearted event and I felt it was very smoothly run.

Les, I went by your table a few time to say "Hi" on Saturday afternoon but missed you. Hopefully in the future, I can meet you.

Short of being a somewhat dark ballroom I felt this was the biggest and most active SOS I have attended. I would be curious how the exibitors felt.
