Beadblast Buckmaster 184
Hi Guys
I want to clean up a 184 Buckmaster knife to sell. I was thinkind about beadblasting it as that was the original finish. I was wondering how they get it so light silver in color. Whenever I have baedblasted stainless steel it turns out very gray in color. Any Ideas???? Thanks MoblMec |

It's light silver because of the process - mirror polish the blade and follow by blasting with glass beads. That makes a light silver color. There will be variation in color dependent on the type of steel because not all steels are the same color even though polished steels may appear to look the same to the casual observer. Also, the amount of air pressure and grade of the beads will have an effect on the final appearance. Basically though, a light silver cloudy look is what you get with bead blasting if its done correctly (meaning on top of a mirror finish) ...
