folder testing
well I had to finally sharpen the folder on the 4th deer, I was down to the front shoulders and she finally gave up so I gave it a quick sharpen on the stone and continued on, but I would say 4 deer feild dressed and skinned + numerous limbs and other stuff I had cut with it! The blade on the folder is only 2 1/4 inches |

Hey Ron, Are you bragging about the knife, or the four deer? : Either one is justification for a little bragging in my book, just wish I was going to get to hunt this year. We gave up our lease we have had for several years in South West Texas and have struck out in finding another good place to do some hunting. This will be the first opening day in over 20 years that I won't be hunting somewhere and it SUCKS. Enjoy yourself. Mike |

Hey Mike!! I'm gonna look into the public land thru Tex. Wildlife. I've talked to some people that have leases next to some public land and they say that most people don't go very far back in to hunt. My Dad told me too that about 1500' either side of the LLano river near Junction is public land. I may try someplace aroiund there myself. It's only bout 3hrs. from Andrews. Later, Mike Sader BTW Ron, congrats. on the deer and a good blade!!! Mike |

Ron, did you heat treat that yourself ? If so, did you freeze it ? I've been forging and experimenting with O-1 this year and I'm very impressed with it. Freezing it in dry ice makes a big improvment. |

yes I do the heat treat and on that folder I did not freeze it, but yes indeed, freezing does improve the performance! |
