Geisha hide-out

I thought this was really neat. Altho today a fan in ones hand may attract as much attention as a knife. Still, it would make a great desk knife.

Neat ! It seems to have all the regular japanese fittings too, including the filemarked habaki. A bit thin though, don't you think ? IN my eyes anyway... Jason.

The seller is promoting it as a "ninja" item. Looks more like a souviner for the tourists to me. the concept leads to some wild imaginings. This idea in the hands of the right artist could turn into a "fan-tastic" (sorry) art piece. I see osage orange, ebony and abaloney inlay in maybe a bamboo theme. Or lemonwood, black horn and MOP!
