Thanx guys. I wasn't expecting quite this many responses but keep em coming. Thats exactly what I was thinkin' when I started it Gannmade. Like I said thanx guys for yer takin' the time to post and keep em comin'... even if its been posted you may have another reason for likin' the supplier.

OK,

Rat dumb question, but thanks to this thread I went and hit all of the sites that were listed looking for 0-1 Precision Ground 3/16"x1"x36" and the prices were all very low. Here's the dumb question, how come, or better yet, whats the difference between, the $14 bar at Flatground and say the $28 bar at other more, hmmm, focused knife supply sites, (with say knife in the title). Both say O-1. What am I missing.

Possibly a minimum order. Check for shipping, sometimes its included in the higher prices. Usually, it's just a mark-up for dealing in such small quantities. Maybe someone else has some better explanations.

Sites like flatground and toolanddie sell at prices that are below the MSR, while other sites charge the retail. For instance, both of the above sites sell Precision Marshall D2 at a price that is about half what the maker charges. Most of the knife supply sites and some of the commercial sites like Admiral charge retail.

I recently noticed that Pop's Supply has D2 at competitive prices, although in limited sizes.
