I say nice flow! That tip is an evil looking thing for sure. What steels did you use? Is one of the blocks it's laying on the handle material?

Looks real good. Did you make the steel? The damascus looks like some of Bruce Evan's to me...

yes it's my own/
damascus is made up of file steel, chainsaw chain, cable, mild steel, bandsaw blades, bike chain, high carbon steel, the other side of the blade is just high tensile steel which holds hellva edge. the blade excluding the tang is 12 inches or 30cm long. the blade is etched in ferric chloride for 1 hour 30min then it is rubed with a 1000grit japanese ceramic whetstone. Bruce Evans does a damascus that real simular, think he calls it wood grain damascus. I think one of the first post I saw of his was a knife out of that type of damascus. I remember he even had a carbid burr in the mix.

Really nice damascus pattern--interesting mix too. Good job. The business end of that looks wicked. Remind me to stay on your good side.
Kevin, welcome to the forum! Glad to have you drop by--don't be a stranger. |

Coutel is my maker name so I thought it makes sense to run with that. Trail Angel was to do with hiking the Appalachian Trail a few years ago....its a loooong story Kevin. |
