Scagel Style Folding Bowie

Well after about a weeks worth of work this knife is ready. I think that this is the nicest one yet.
Here are some pics and the specs.

Blade is 4-1/4in long 1-1/8 wide at the widest point and made form forged to shape 1095 steel. Differentially heat treated with a nice temper line. Brass guard and titanium liners. The scales are made up of various exotic woods like ebony, cocobolo, bocote, and the spacers are brass, titanium and nickel silver. The end scales are crown stag. Fileworked backbar and blue anodized titanium liners. I even carved in a scagel style stamp into the blade. Overall length is 9-3/4 inches. Wicked sharp, smooth opening and locks up great.
Thanks for looking,
Chuck

Pretty outstanding man.
I love the lines, and the construction looks great.
Way to go.

Awesome Chuck! Woulda fooled me from a distance and maybe up close a little! Great job. You capture the fixed hunter/skinner, with the functionality of a folder perfectly.

Thanks for showing us.

Exceptional work!! I just love it. Looks like the real thing in opened position. Can't see a lock in the pics. Is it a liner lock or slipjoint ?

VERY clean. You have all the best features on this one: The temper line, the crown stag, and those amazing spacers.

Cool!

I was just blown away when you came up with that idea. I agree that this one is the nicest one yet!

Chuck, When you first showed me these I thought they were fantastic. This one is no exception. I really think you have found a nice little niche.

I was going to ask why you made a fixed blade and then you said smooth opening and locks up great. I thought you were pulling my leg. I believe I saw the first one or two that you made and they were just awsome. This one is AWSOMER if thats a word!

Great Looking Knife!!! If you don't mind me asking, How do you construct the handles? I know that if this were not a folder, then the brass spacers and various wood spacers would just slide on the tang but this one appears to be sliced on half and I was wondering how it was made? Thanks for the info ahead of time just in case I don't get back to this thread in the next couple of days.

Hello Gilbert,
Thanks for appreciation of my knife. Currently as far as I know I am the first and only maker to make a folder with this type of handle construction. So unfortunately the handle construction is a secret that at this time I am not willing to divulge.
Regards,
Chuck
