Deluxe knife (I process complete )

Friends of the forum; some days ago I consulted as showing a knife and Don Cowles offered. I have thought it better and I eat our friend Cowles, he/she should have a lot of work and little free time. I will Show the pictures without explanations of the process, during several days (in total they are 58 pictures, with a total of 5,3 megas )
Those friends of the forum that want to consult or to ask something on the process, will respond to their questions.
But I will show the process in - THE DISPLAY CASE "
Thanks to all and it is my desire that they like the knife.
A hug to my friend Don Cowles.

As I've already commented in our e-mail correspondence, I am soooo impressed with this knife handle...especially the carving! I love your execution of the devil-type face. Really wondeful.

I can't help but wonder why you don't attach a flex shaft to that Dremel? Dremel's flex shaft is quite inexpensive (about $29.00 USA) and only take seconds to attach... I personally think that it would be so much easier to handle and control than what it looks like you're currently using (in that photo).

Thank you again for sharing this...It's a genuine pleasure to watch you work.

I don't use my Dremel flex shaft - I'll trade you even up for the knife!!

(I can't even pretend that's a serious offer!)

What a great job! And great photos on this series! It's fun to watch a master at work!

Friend Dennis
Thank you for their kind words. I don't use the flexible joining of DREMEL" because he/she goes me bi?n without joining; I proved it and he/she didn't notice the difference a lot. When one adapts well to a tool it doesn't suit to change.
In all ways the DREMEL" didn't make all the one carved, I also used burins.
Dennis, the Dr David, wants to incorporate this process to his book 3? edition.I wait you help me, with the documentation necessary i. Cowles, with the translation that I will send him today of the texts.

Friend TEXAS, thank you for their words of respect to my work, I hope he/she enjoys with the pictures.

A hug to both friends.

Montejano

Amigo Dennis

I can not imagine a more suitable participant for our new book. David and I are thinking alike as I had literally, just sat down to type an e-mail to you to see if you would be interested in joining the new book, when I saw your e-mail informing me that David had beat me to it (David is quick!)

My e-mail with the information you've requested is already on it's way.

I am very excited to have you on board. I'm sure your 2-page spread will be a fantastic addition!!!

Dennis Greenbaum

BTW- To all you makers, engravers, scrimshanders, sheathmakers, damascus makers, etc....
We have nearly reached the limit we had set for the number of makers taking spreads in the book. If anyone else has been considering and is still lingering "on the fence",... please get in touch with me, soon!

The more you post, the better it gets! And I'm glad to see Dennis and David managed to get you into their book. If anyone should be there, it's Montejano.

That is a beautiful knife. Your work has such a wonderful old school elegant look. Your backgrounds look so flat and perfect. Did you use the dremel for the background on the blade?
Great Job Thanks for posting

Send a message via AIM to Don Cowles
Mike, he used the Dremel on the blade only for shading the relief figures. The background is the result of acid etching.

He also used the Dremel (as well as burins) to carve the ivory handle.

Thanks Don

It is a really sharp looking knife. The acid sure gives a nice flat background.

Thank you friend Mike for their words.

The strong" "water worked with a good technique is an engraving of towering quality and never debit side to consider it as a style of smaller engraving. If the engraver's technique is very good, big engravings can be made.

Thank you to enter to say on my knife.
