Post Vise

I have a chance to pick up 2 post vises. They both look in pretty good shape. The jaws line up good and the springs are still strong. Have not looked for a makers mark, but look like old Buffalos. Can get the 2 for 80.00, what do you guys think. Buy or don't buy.

Absolutely buy. A new one from Centaur Forge is about $1200.00. Besides, you can't have too many post vises. If nothing else, they make good trade goods.

I was wondering if you could help me out, I pick up one for 50$ a few years ago.

It appears to be hand forged, no maker's mark, in good shape but missing the leaf spring.

any Idea about how much it is worth, not thinking of selling, just curios?

If you plan to use it it's very valuable. If not, it's junk and I'll give you $10.00 for it.

LOL...no, I boght it to use, and do use quite a bit, just wondering about it thats all.

I beleive that it was made by a black smith with the screw being the only bought part, posibly in the early stumpin days.

Make me an offer, and I'll build myself anouther if the price is right!

He he. Just pulling your leg William. I have three of them right now. One's in my smithy and I'm working on the other two so I can replace the one in my smithy with a bigger one in better shape.
