Moving to Texas
So in less than 2 weeks I am moving to Corpus Christi, TX. So tell me, what do you guys have going on down here?

We gotta do somethin' about all this immigration!
There are knifemakers all over the state, but it's a very big state. Someone started a map showing knifemaker locations and it seemed to me that 90% of all the knifemakers in the world must live in the Appalachian mountain area. The 'pin' icons were stuck one on top of another in that area. Welcome to Texas! I used to do some work in Corpus Christi. Pretty area, but the gangs are bad and the cops are worse. Same could be said for a lot of urban places, I guess, but Corpus is deceptive in that it's fairly rural. __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |

Well, for Corpus, you need a large living room so we can all go down to your place to do some spec fishing later this Spring. We can discuss fillet knives to make it TKCA related.
As for Longview, there's a lot of guys up in the Dallas-extended area (Waxahachie up to Denton and over to Longview). You have to understand that we consider anything under 2 1/2 hours a "day trip" to go there and back in Texas. |

Well, anybody who wants to make a "2 day trip" is welcome to come down to Brownsville and visit with me.
By the way, it's only a "day trip"from Corpus, Les. |

Border towns are a two day trip, some times three, for me regardless the drive time!

It has been awhile since living here but, I do remember that border towns can get a person into lots of trouble. At least it did when we all went hunting down there years ago.

Glad you made it ok Les. Welcome to Texas. And you are right about U-Haul. The one we had a few weeks ago leaked and soaked a couple of boxes. Good luck getting all set up.
