Andrew Garrett--contest entry--Gun & Knife
This photo was taken in a homemade light tent under three 20W 'natural light' coiled bulbs--two above and behind, one front left.
The camera is a Nikon 5700 on a tripod. I am not certain of the settings as I am a stone cold rookie at photography and have yet to learn the 'lingo'. The subject is ground from a 3/8" brush-hog blade and bears the full thickness at the rear tapering forward to the point. It is fitted with four carbon fiber scales and pinned with stainless steel. The industrial satin finish comes courtesy of a 400G belt. It is designed as a defensive weapon of last resort against an armored attacker. The props include my old uniform shirt from a small Missouri municipality, my Surefire flashlight, my service weapon (Glock 22), my old badge, and a .40cal hollow-point bullet. I arranged the objects in an effort to pull the eye through the picture with all major lines flowing to the subject. The image is composed as an advertising photo for future orders of this design. The target audience is the law enforcement community. Thanks for looking. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |
