quick question

I found a great deal on some 40 micron sandpaper and was wondering what that would translate into in regular grit sizes. Also is there a way of converting one to the other?

40 microns would be about 280 grit per this table.

...along this line, what's the difference between "a" and "b" grit sandpapers?
