Initial Testing

Well, initial testing on my heat treat looked pretty good.

I put edges on both the kiridashi and the drop point. I rolled the edges back and forth over a stainless steel bar, bearing down fairly hard and there were no cracks and no evidence of plastic deformation on the edge. I also drove the tip of the drop point repeatedly into both a pine 2x4 as well as a piece of 1/2" MDF I had laying around and it seemed to take the abuse without any issues.

Time will tell, or course. But for now I'm pretty happy.
