Has any one here used a Grizzly G1015 grinder, and if so , how do you like it? |

Grizzly 1015
Seems like practically everyone has judging by the huge number of times this grinder gets discussed here. Search back through recent threads. For the money, it's a very good grinder. Plenty of power, a large platen and has 8" and 10" wheels available. No other attachments are available. I still use mine even though I have a much more expensive grinder now... |

Griz
I started out with the Griz, and it paid for a lot of my new tools. I have a much 'better' grinder now, but still use the Griz every time I am in the shop. Super tool for the money. Early on I asked several folks who 'moved up' if they would sell me their Griz... and they ALL said no. Only changes I did to make it work for me were: 10" wheel to give clearance past the motor when grinding on the left side and Extra bracing with a stiff spring to hold the arm and eliminate the wobble. Having a powerful grinder kept me at my knifemaking. I am not sure I would still be making knives if there were no grinders in the shop. Good luck and happy grinding! Dave |
