1000+ layer Damascus?

Anyone know of Damascus being sold that has 1000+ layers to it? I prefer Stainless precision ground barstock, but it's not necessary. I remember someone overseas that made some with 15,000 layers. Any ideas?

Dave , I would think that most damascus makers can and will take your steel to any layer count that you might want .
It would be better to know as to what patterns that you might want and what steels you prefer .
I build special order damascus.
the more complex the pattern and the steels involved detremans wheather it would be worth making a special run , commen steels and commend patterens can be bought at any of the knife supply houses at really reasonable prices this might be what will fill your needs
but if it is not you will have to contact people that will make a run just for your needs
most large damascus maker will do this for you but the cost per inch will be affected .
Ron
